FORM & FLOW WINS AGAIN! Judges’ Choice Award OUTSET Choreography Awards 2026

Sydney, Australia — 18 August 2026 — Sydney-based Colombian-born Australian choreographer and performer Daniela Zambrano has won the Judges’ Choice Award at the OUTSET Choreography Awards 2026 presented by DUTI STUDIOS & ProFound, and Co-Presented by Carriageworks for her work Form & Flow.
Presented at Carriageworks in Sydney, the $5,000 Judges’ Choice Award recognises the strength and potential of the work and will support the next stage of Form & Flow’s creative development in Sydney.
The recognition marks the second major choreographic award for the work, following First Place at DUELS by FORM Dance Projects in 2025 for Form & Flow: Dueto.

Created and choreographed by Daniela Zambrano, Form & Flow explores migration, identity, belonging and human connection through different movement languages.
At the centre of the work is a movable wooden structure that transforms throughout the performance, representing ideas of home, borders, displacement and adaptation.
The work explores what happens when people from different backgrounds meet, and how connection can emerge despite cultural, physical and emotional barriers.
The duet this time is performed by Daniela Zambrano and Lucky Lartey, a Ghanaian-Australian dancer and multidisciplinary performer whose grounded, rhythmic movement brings a distinct cultural perspective to the work. Their different movement backgrounds create a physical dialogue between cultures, identities and perspectives.

An Award-Winning Journey
Form & Flow has continued to evolve through different stages, formats and performances.
In 2025, Form & Flow: Dueto won First Place at DUELS, presented by FORM Dance Projects. The 2026 OUTSET Judges’ Choice Award marks another significant milestone for the work and provides $5,000 towards its continued creative development in Sydney.
Daniela plans to use this next stage to further develop the choreography and expand the work, while continuing to explore migration, belonging and connection through movement.
About Daniela Zambrano
Award-winning choreographer and dancer Daniela Zambrano holds a Bachelor of Choreography and Contemporary Dance from the Superior Academy of Arts of Bogotá (ASAB) and completed the Anton Lachky – Puzzle Work program in Belgium. Her professional development also includes Countertechnique training with Anouk van Dijk at Chunky Move in Melbourne, alongside further training with internationally recognised dance artists in Australia, Europe and the UK.
She began her professional career with the Sonia Osorio National Ballet of Colombia, developing a strong foundation in Colombian folkloric and contemporary movement.
Her work has been presented internationally, including at the Hong Kong International Choreography Festival, Adelaide Fringe, IDEA NOW Sydney and IMPACT Festival. Her work Form & Flow won First Place / Critic’s Choice at DUELS by FORM Dance Projects (2025) and the Judges’ Choice Award at the OUTSET Choreography Awards (2026).
Her screen works have been featured at the Inspire Dance Australia Film Festival and the Florence Dance on Screen Festival. She also collaborated with UNHCR on Displaced, a dance project raising awareness of refugee experiences.
