Form & Flow returns at Idea '25 festival by Form Dance Projects

Form & Flow returns at the IDEA ’25 festival with new energy following its Critics’ Choice Award win at Form Dance Projects’ DUELS (Riverside Theatres, April 2025). The performance at Eternity Playhouse is presented as part of IDEA NOW, the inaugural showcase of new Australian independent dance by FORM Dance Projects, featuring Daniela Zambrano’s work alongside that of four other independent Australian choreographers.

With the continued support of Form Dance Projects and Critical Path, choreographer and performer Daniela Zambrano will be joined by Lucky Lartey as the cast of Form & Flow. Lucky is one of Australia’s most distinguished dance artists renowned for his ground-breaking work in African and contemporary dance, and will bring depth and vitality to this award-winning piece.

Form & Flow explores identity, resilience, and the deeply human experience of displacement and migration. A central element in the performance is a movable wooden structure, used as both a physical and symbolic barrier, representing the journeys, risks, and inner transformations that come with migration. Daniela shares her artistic vision: "Humble forms become vessels of struggle, resilience, and transformation. As we navigate loss and the search for belonging, we ask: we come from different lands, but are we not the same? What truly divides us?".

After a vibrant season at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Form & Flow was selected among nine works for the DUELS showcase giving rise to its current duet format. An extract from the original full-length work, this duet brings the theme of migration into sharp, emotional focus through a physical dialogue between two performers.
